jhedlund's review: "This is a book to lose yourself in. It is the perfect balance between great writing and a page-turner plot. Walsh's writing reminds me of Alice Hoffman or Brunonia Barry. A touch of the magical, mystical, and mysterious, but not enough to take you too far away from the characters. I stayed up until 5:30 a.m. one night finishing this book. I couldn't sleep anyway, and the story was perfect company. Highly recommended.
My only criticism is a very minor one, and that is that the MC is only 25, yet somehow has a PhD in languages and is a well-respected professor with at least a few years teaching experience. Still, it's really a mechanism for the story rather than a major part of it, so I was able to suspend my disbelief and go along for the ride on that one."
